How it all began......
Growing up on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, some of my earliest memories are of standing in my mother’s kitchen, fascinated by the sight of her preparing sumptuous smelling dishes from her native Nicaragua. .I was enthralled by the exotic flavors, exuberant colors and Central American sensibility of her Latin styled evenings – from a young age I was hooked!
I eventually moved to California to work in the Entertainment Industry, but my love of food + entertaining always remained. After 10 years away I returned home to NYC and began cooking for fun, bringing my Nicaraguan infused Latin delicacies around town. What began as a hobby became a growing business: word quickly spread, not only of the home-grown atmosphere of my unique events but of the classic mouth-watering mini empanadas and dipping sauces I was getting known for. Soon I was selling them around town and a second business was born!
A Casa Catering grew rapidly, and soon, friends, family and clients convinced me it was time to expand and open a restaurant. In 2008, deep on the Lower East Side, A Casa Fox was born. This past year, after over a decade of feeding restaurant goers and leading food critics from New York Magazine, Travel & Leisure and Michelin, I decided to close the restaurant and return to my love of throwing parties 100% of the time. Having perfected my Latin and Nicaraguan delicacies at our Lower East Side location, we now want to direct all our attention to bringing my Latin infused, signature style and culinary delights to homes, offices and private venues everywhere. And all while we develop a line of Prepared Foods and Sauces to be distributed and sold everywhere – many of which you can soon sample by ordering directly from us, right here!
