How it all began......
Growing up on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, some of my earliest memories are of standing in my mother’s kitchen, fascinated by the sight of her preparing sumptuous smelling dishes from her native Nicaragua. Before long I was cooking by her side and helping plan the dinner parties she threw for her New York friends, who were enthralled by the exotic flavors, exuberant colors and Central American sensibility of her Latin styled evenings. I was hooked. I eventually moved to California to work in the Entertainment Industry, but my love of food + entertaining always remained.
After 10 years away I decided to return home to NYC; I began cooking and bringing my Nicaraguan infused Latin delicacies around town. Primarily for fun, but it grew into a business shortly thereafter. a casa Catering grew rapidly, and soon, friends, family and clients convinced me it was time to expand and open a restaurant. In 2008, deep on the Lower East Side, a casa fox was born. This past July, after over a decade of feeding restaurant goers and leading food critics from New York Magazine, Travel & Leisure and Michelin, I decided to close the restaurant and return to my love of throwing parties 100% of the time. Now my staff and I spend all our attention on bringing my Latin infused, signature style and culinary delights to homes, offices and private venues everywhere, as we develop a line of Prepared Foods and Sauces to be distributed and sold everywhere - many of which you can sample by ordering directly from us, right here!
